The purpose of the Database Automation Engineer role is to have experience in SQL writing test cases, debugging test cases, and optimizing unit tests. This will be testing and validating the data used in their reporting to the business. Most of the testing will be for new features that were not provided previously to the business. Once errors are found the Database QA engineer would work with the SQL developers to review code and fix errors. The data for the reporting is coming from multiple systems and being merged into one warehouse. Database QA engineer will be interfacing with support, run teams and end users, good communication skills are required as will be interfacing with business users to ascertain all possible test scenarios¬

Key Deliverables: ¬ 


‚€Ę Develops SQL and automated regression tests


‚€Ę Records test results and bugs in appropriate test management tool to ensure proper evidence of testing


‚€Ę Works with product owners to determine priority of test scenarios and ask clarifying questions to understand intent of test scenarios for automation.


‚€Ę Assists in defining best-in class testing processes for the testing organization


‚€Ę Maintains relationships with key team members, integration partners, and consultants


‚€Ę Participates in required daily stand-ups and status meetings


‚€Ę Performs other related duties as required or requested.

Education/Experience/Training:



  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a closely related field preferred

  • Experience validating data using SQL queries

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working on a QA team in an enterprise environment

  • Minimum 2 years working with data warehouses, e-Commerce tools, and CRM packages(Nice to have)

  • Experience with automated test development (preferred)

  • Experience working on in various Agile methodologies (preferred)

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:



  • Understands Test Driven Development within SQL

  • Knowledge of SQL development and ability to follow ETL process in order to create appropriate test cases¬ 

  • Performance testing experience preferred

  • Jira for backlog, task, test, and defect management

  • Zephyr for test execution

  • GitHub for source control

  • Confluence for Process Documentation and Documentation Review

  • Test Data Management Solutions as needed

  • Demonstrated willingness and capability to learn new technologies and methodologies quickly

  • Experience assisting development teams using test-driven development

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
