Benefits Manager (Primarily Supporting Pension & Savings Plans) (40193)

Serves as benefits subject matter expert in administration of the U.S. Pension and Savings programs including vendor management, project management, and communications. Assist in pension and savings plan strategy, planning and execution and be responsible for day to day engagement with carriers and vendors in order to provide high quality, effective and compliant benefit programs, administration and service for all participants. This role will also provide support on the pension and savings plans. This role will report directly into the Vice President, Benefits, HRIS, and Payroll.

Required Skills
Responsible for day-to-day retirement plan vendor management including pension and savings (401(k)) plans and outsourced administration vendors. Must work to ensure best participant experience, ensure quality measures are in place and test such quality measures, system testing/requirements among other items as assigned.
Manages relationships with vendors to trouble-shoot problems & resolve issues and coordinate resolution of escalated or complex issues
Handles non-recurring specialized and complex correspondence and inquiries from employees, HR representatives and third parties
Develop and distribute communications to HR and employees relating to pension and savings plans. Coordinate all versions of communication pieces with the internal benefits department, vendors and legal to meet critical deadlines
Ensure compliance with applicable governmental regulations and reporting requirements
Create and track project plan for all vendor management activities and projects for the year; update as necessary to keep current
Ensure quality measures are in place with all vendors and test those measures monthly. This includes account management team reviews (scorecards), test calls to the member services line as well as reviewing the member websites to ensure accuracy and effectiveness of the resources available to participants
Ensure Performance Guarantees (PGs) are in place, track/report ongoing metrics, review metrics included with Vice President Benefits, HRIS, and Payroll to determine any updates/changes from year to year, coordinate responses for certain metrics (like account manager scorecards) with benefits team
Evaluate and recommend process/program improvements for high quality and effective administration and service for participants
Manage quarterly and year-end vendor meetings including meeting set up, document preparation, tracking and following up on deliverables from those meetings
Support annual strategy through formal RFP support, vendor program evaluation and understanding of health care issues and program alignment to help address those issues
Continual data analysis to evaluate and understand population health concerns, trends and evaluate program effectiveness
Provide customer service support to internal and external customers on all issues including participant issues. Respond timely, thoroughly and thoughtfully
Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency
Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of relevant work experience or demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.
Thorough working knowledge of U.S. Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution plans required.
Knowledge of ERISA/DOL/IRS compliance as it relates to employee benefit plans.
General knowledge related to Health and Welfare plans is helpful.
Able to apply broad work experience and knowledge when analyzing complex problems. Must be able to consistently identify critical elements, variables and alternatives to develop solutions.
Excellent project management skills and experience leading multi functional projects.
Must be able to organize/prioritize existing resources and incorporate new information, as needed, to implement the most effective solutions. Able to communicate clearly and courteously with those who need to know of decisions/actions/problems. Able to apply excellent business acumen and collaborative skills when resolving problems.
Manage vendor relationships.
Able to apply excellent functional computer knowledge in utilizing all Microsoft office programs, Peoplesoft or other technical tools in completing assignments. Able to apply expertise in all the tools or applications used to complete work assignments.
Must have a strong attention to details, problem solving skills, be an independent thinker and be self-directed/self-motivated. Requires a strong sense of urgency and complete follow through to full resolution when researching and responding to issues. Requires the ability to interact in a team environment and make decisions quickly.
Participation and exposure to plan audits and regulatory filings required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
