Lending Support Specialist

Assists designated lending areas with member collateral and insurance product support. Responsible for accurate and timely loan reviews. Will be responsible to coordinate loan closing and funding for all mortgage loan products. Maintain security controls to protect facility against criminal and fraudulent activities on lending products. Will work closely with Long Officers and Branch Managers to maintain all lending functions are compliant with Federal and State Laws and Regulation and in accordance with the company's internal policies and procedures.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Processes loan payoffs, paid out loan reports and collateral documents.
Maintains mortgage document log to ensure proper documentation is received post-closing (i.e. Recorded mortgage and title insurance policies, mortgage payoff request, and mortgage releases).
Funds indirect loans and maintains dealer reserve accounts by reviewing all documentation on approved contracts submitted for funding.
Provides administrative support for loan department by responding to routine inquiries for consumer loan account balances and payoff amounts and greeting walk-in members. Maintains files for the loan department.
To handle all aspects of the insurance and debt protection product claims. This would include GAP, Warranty, Credit Life & Disability Insurance, Debt Protection, and would include any future insurance products added to the credit union line of services. Will work to resolve any member problems beyond the authority of other branch personnel concerning insurance products.
Maintains vehicle title log to ensure proper collateral is obtained. Released of titles when loans are paid off.
Inputs data for direct and indirect consumer loans on the mainframe system and generates necessary documents and reports.
Responsible to maintain contact with CUNA Mutual and the members regarding life and disability claims, to ensure prompt payment reimbursement to the organization. Will coordinate efforts with collections department.
Will monitor and maintain credit reporting procedures. Will maintain Oscar on Equifax. Will coordinate with collections department and Compliance Officer on any credit reporting issues or member disputes.
Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Knowledge & Skill
Experience
Up to six months of similar or related experience including time spent in preparatory positions.
Education/Certifications/Licenses
College degree preferred.

Working Conditions

Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on confidential matters.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
