Senior Network Engineer

Summary


Donnelley Financial Solutions is a Financial Services and Software as a Service provider that has a global network footprint spanning North America, South America, Europe and Asia. ┬ We are looking for a seasoned Network Engineer to assist in the engineering, deployment, configuration, design and day-to- day support of our Global LAN/WAN footprint.┬  Our fast-paced environment requires critical thinking and a services-focused mindset to operate, grow and enhance our current network infrastructure and technologies. ┬ The position requires collaboration with many internal teams including project management, application development, change management, solution architecture, security and IT governance.┬  This role reports directly to the Director of Network Engineering and Operations.



Responsibilities


This is a HANDS-ON position, requiring the candidate to spend approximately 90% of the time working on projects troubleshooting problems and resolving tickets for internal systems.

Manage, Maintain, Configure and Deploy:



  • 50+ network sites, 400+ network nodes and 4000+ endpoints

  • Cisco IOS network switches and routers

  • Constantly monitor up-time and diagnose and resolve performance issues

  • Capacity planning of all systems and storage environments; ensure that upgrades are completed on a standardized basis

  • Evaluate network and security design and recommend improvements where practical

  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network systems, design, configuration, support and processes

  • Create and maintain Disaster Recovery plans ensuring that these are tested and updated regularly

  • Design and develop solutions and network requirements based on business unit needs; make recommendations on investments in network hardware and services



Technical Qualifications


The ideal candidate has 8+ years of managing WAN & LAN systems. ┬ The candidate can demonstrate experience and knowledge in the following areas:



  • Extensive experience configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting LANs, particularly at Layer 2 and Layer 3

  • Extensive experience configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting WANs including configuring EIGRP and BGP

  • Experience with Cisco iWAN, DMVPN and IPSec

  • Strong in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP a must; must have experience with IP, TCP, UDP, IPsec, DNS, ARP, HTTP, SSL, among other protocols; understanding and use of VLSM

  • Experience with networking support systems and troubleshooting tools such as ACS, SVN, Syslog, SIEM, MS Active Directory, DHCP, AD-DNS, Wireshark, tcpdump and packet capture tools

  • Experience working with VOIP protocols and managing voice systems

  • Experience with system security tools including centralized syslog management, SIEM, IDS and UTM

  • Experience with network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds

  • Experience troubleshooting circuit issues with telecom carriers

  • Thorough understanding of Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems

  • Working knowledge of Azure and other cloud networking technologies

  • Project management skills including the ability to take a large
    initiative and break it down into sub-tasks and understand dependencies; the
    ability to manage that plan through to completion.

  • Ability to verbalize and document design and architecture plans,
    project plans and other deliverables

  • Willingness to occasionally work scheduled night/weekend times and
    to participate in an on-call schedule

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
