Exponent's Biomedical Engineering Practice is currently hiring for an Associate in our Warrenville, IL office. Responsibilities for this position include:   Develop engineering test study protocols, execute studies, perform data analysis and generate technical reports in support of client product development and life-cycle management milestones and goals Develop novel test methods or improve legacy test systems through instrumentation (with data acquisition), sensor selection and development of fixtures and qualification of the test system in support of the engineering studies described above Execute failure/robustness investigations based on the results of the studies or design review outcomes, through appropriate characterization and imaging methods Develop fluidics systems and sub-systems for bread-board development Support mechanical design activities for clients Support fabrication and prototyping activities for clients (including partnering with external vendors) Develop system level functional models in support of risk management activities Perform technical evaluations, analysis, and testing on the behalf of multinational medical device companies for the FDA as well as consulting in intellectual property and product liability litigation Publish at conferences and in peer-reviewed literature Assist in marketing the group's technical capabilities to clients and the scientific community Ability to develop additional expertise and gain additional industry exposure through our unique technical consulting services. Develop key linkages with supporting groups such as Human Factors, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering and Material Science groups   Qualifications for this position include: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Physics/Aeorspace Engineering or a related engineering/science field with 0-2 years' experience Experience in operating multiple engineering laboratories and building new capability for the labs Hands-on experience in test method development, data-acquisition, measurement system integration Expertise in the use of engineering tools for testing, data analysis and systems modeling (LabView, R, Matlab, LMS Amesim) Demonstrated ability to decompose complex problems into actionable task lists Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Research experience applicable to medical devices highly desirable ID 3071

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
