Director of Finance

Job Summary AECOM is seeking a Director of Finance in our Commercial Operations & Maintenance group.  This is a leadership position and will be located in our Warrenville, IL office.   This position provides direct oversight and direction to the support functions identified below. The Director of Finance reports to the Vice President of Business Operations and partners with various business leaders / stakeholders throughout the organization, both domestic and international, to develop a close working relationship in support of the business' objectives.   Primary Responsibilities: Establishes key business initiatives with measurable goals and milestones that provide support to the overall account and company strategy. Leads, motivates, and develops strong, diverse leadership teams, and works to verify that the team operates as a single cooperative unit. Strengthens the team by recruiting top industry talent. Encourages and enables junior and mid-level employees to ascend to new, challenging, and rewarding positions. Implements long term succession and monitoring staff development plans for the next generation of leaders Develops implementation strategies that engage staff at all levels operating with one vision to achieve the desired outcomes. Provides guidance and coaching to project teams as needed. Oversees/Prepares budgets, establishing key metrics, and monitoring performance; maintaining a healthy program P&L by closely managing and forecasting sales, staffing, utilization, overhead costs, profitability, and cash flow. Takes an active role in overseeing monthly closing process in order to provide timely forecast explanations. Supports proposal pricing activities, as needed. Conducts project financial reviews to monitor project performance and proactively updates VP Finance and Program Director on relevant issues. Evaluates the performance of subordinates on a regular basis and provides direct feedback, counsel, and coaching to continually improve operations. Communicates expectations and holds staff accountable for meeting financial goals and performance metrics, while maintaining a high level of motivation and morale for a team-oriented work environment. Creates and maintains a team-centered, growth-oriented and entrepreneurial business culture that seeks to identify new business opportunities, anticipates and responds to market and client needs, and builds value for the company, clients, and employees through excellent project execution. Resolves conflicts or controversy to facilitate meeting established company objectives. Comprehends, uses, and easily navigates among work groups and business units within a high matrix organization to achieve end results within established timetables and deadlines. Consistently demonstrates the ability to proactively identify potential project problems or opportunities, analyze the issues using all appropriate resources, develop alternatives, and arrive at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.  Ten years of experience leading a finance-related team in a client-facing role. Must be willing to relocate to serve the needs of the business, or be willing travel up to 25%. Outstanding organizational skills, including the ability to multitask competing priorities. Creative and proactive approach to problem solving. Excellent listening and communication skills. This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client's location. This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules. Physical Requirements: Requires ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen. Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents. Requires ability to attend meetings throughout the site and potentially travel to other AECOM, customer and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant locations. Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings and presentations. Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line. Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout diverse work environments as required by business demand. Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movements. Requires some moving of light to medium weight materials into desks, filing cabinets and other storage locations. Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress. Special Requirements: Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed. Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained. Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related program. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. Demonstrated history of leveraging long-term vision and strategic thinking to grow operations in a challenging economic environment. Record of successfully recruiting, retaining, and promoting world-class professionals and managers. Record of successfully managing staff with diverse backgrounds. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
